Alana Walker (she/her) graduated from Grinnell College with a Bachelors in History. Her academic coursework studied the visual and literary depictions of how various cultures and identities interact with historical implications and societal roles. Alana has worked with various non-profits, assisting with programming, outreach, and animation studios with production and development. Alana's speech impediment inspired her to find solace in film and art, and she is excited to explore how media and advocacy can continue to build and foster kinship within disability communities. Through her experience, she is excited to merge her interest in film, non-profits, and disability advocacy by interning at the Longmore Institute through AAPD's internship program.
