Who do you look up to in Your Bay Area Disability Community?
Activists? Advocates? Artists? Athletes? Entrepreneurs? Dancers? Educators? Inventors? Poets?
Staff at the San Francisco Public Library want to hear from Bay Area disability community members about local people who have made positive contributions to our lives.
They are developing an exhibition that will tell stories about the work these changemakers have done, illustrated by portraits or images that highlight their work. The exhibition will first be displayed in the San Mateo Public Library Central Library, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Library of the San Jose Public Library, and the Main Library of the San Francisco Public Library. They will be looking for other organizations who would like to host the exhibition later.
While you’re at it, please tell them what Bay Area library you visit most often and what you like best about your library.
