Superfest Disability Film Festival is participating in CAAMFest this year!

THIS CLOSE follows Kate and Michael, who are deaf, as they balance their personal lives and careers. Recently engaged, Kate struggles to find opportunities to grow in her career, while Michael attempts to get over a broken heart. THIS CLOSE is an exploration of Kate and Mike’s relationship as best friends and their longing to be understood.

Based on a short-form series that premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, we are excited to present an episode screening and conversation with Korean American director, Andrew Ahn, and stars of the show Joshua Feldman and Shoshannah Stern, moderated by Superfest juror and Professor of Anthropology at UCBerkeley Karen Nakamura. THIS CLOSE is co-produced by the Longmore Institute on Disability at San Francisco State University and the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired as part of the Center for Asian American Media's CAAMFEST36.

Free! ASL and audio description provided. Please come scent-free!
