A Verbal Description Guided Tour with Catherine Kudlick
A tour of “Patient No More: People with Disabilities Securing Civil Rights" with a focus on access for low-vision/blind people led by the exhibit's co-creator, Catherine Kudlick, who also has a vision impairment.
Fed-up with inaccessible exhibits? Bored by irrelevant history? But willing to give exhibits another try?
Check out the upcoming tour of “Patient No More: People with Disabilities Securing Civil Rights." The approximately one-hour tour will be lead by Cathy Kudlick, visually-impaired herself, who is a history professor and director of the Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability at San Francisco State University that created this exhibit. She's put together a FREE tour for fellow blind and low-vision folks that will talk about how blind people figure into this exciting story, what went into building in access from the beginning, and features she snuck in just for her blind friends.
Almost convinced but need one more nudge? Check out blind radio broadcaster Sheela Gunn-Cushman's audio-appreciation of the exhibit on KPFA's: 'Pushing Limits'.
